Called and Equipped

Do you ever feel like you don't have what it takes to do what God has asked you to do? Love your enemies? Care for a challenging family member? Take on new responsibilities at work? Stand up for someone who is being bullied? After Samuel anointed Saul to be the first King of Israel, 1 Samuel 10 tells us that God made him a new person and gave him a new heart. Both were important for his task ahead. Join us as we explore how this looks in our lives today.
Fellowship Dinner
Everyone is invited to join us for our next potluck meal this Sabbath, July 5, in the Fellowship Hall. Members, as you are able, please plan to contribute to the meal by bringing 10-12 servings of a vegetarian dish per person attending (the Potluck Team provides enough food for their families and our guests, but we depend on our members bringing food in order to have enough). As always, visitors are welcome to join us as our guests.
Special Blood Drive Opportunity - In appreciation for our long commitment to hosting blood drives, our drive on July 12 has been selected for one donor to receive a TV (to be given at a later date). Since it is just for our location, the chance of being selected is quite good. See above for information on making an appointment. Walk-Ins are also welcome.
Memorial Reception Help
It has been a few years since we have updated our list of those who are willing to help with Memorial Receptions. There are three kinds of help we need most:
- Willingness to make cookies for the reception
- Willingness to help in the kitchen
- Willingness to be one of the Coordinators
If you are willing to help in any of those ways, please contact Arlys Fillman at aafillman@me.com or the church office (Name, e-mail address and/or cell phone number are helpful if you leave a message). A special "Thank you" to those who have been helping already! (It would be helpful to us if you would please confirm your willingness to continue helping, too!) Thanks!
Adventurers & Pathfinders
Registration for the 2025-2026 year starts on June 1 and will end on August 21. To register, click on the appropriate link below.
Uniform fitting, the schedule and permission forms will be completed on August 24, 1:00pm in the Fireside Room.
On May 3rd Southeastern California Conference sponsored an event to launch the Center for Discipleship and Evangelism at an afternoon gathering at the Loma Linda Korean Church. If you were not able to attend, you can watch the entire event by clicking on the link below. Excellent presentations by Nimrod Maua, Kendra Haloviak-Valentine and Johnathan Henderson, and other resourceses you might find helpful. Well worth your time.
