Love That Matters

This Sabbath we return to the letters of John to study one or the biggest and most important themes in the book: love! That word gets thrown around so casually in our world today. Just this morning I affectionately told my cup of coffee that I loved it! But the way John talks about love in his letter is anything but casual. It is a love focused on others. It is a love illustrated by the selfless sacrifice of Christ. It is a love that matters.
"16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. " 1 John 3:16 NIV

Uniform fitting, the schedule and permission forms will be completed on August 24, 1:00pm in the Fireside Room.
On May 3rd Southeastern California Conference sponsored an event to launch the Center for Discipleship and Evangelism at an afternoon gathering at the Loma Linda Korean Church. If you were not able to attend, you can watch the entire event by clicking on the link below. Excellent presentations by Nimrod Maua, Kendra Haloviak-Valentine and Johnathan Henderson, and other resourceses you might find helpful. Well worth your time.
Fellowship Dinner
Everyone is invited to join us for our next potluck meal on Sabbath June 21, in the Fellowship Hall. Members, as you are able, please plan to contribute to the meal by bringing 10-12 servings of a vegetarian dish per person attending (the Potluck Team provides enough food for their families and our guests, but we depend on our members bringing food in order to have enough). As always, visitors are welcome to join us as our guests.
